Probe Microphone

The UNITY™ Probe Microphone combines all aspects of testing with the programming of hearing instruments and probe microphone measurements. It's this versatility that allows faster, more accurate hearing instrument fittings.

With today's fully digital, multi-channel hearing instruments and their nearly unlimited characteristics and programmable parameters, it's increasingly critical to make accurate, objective measurements that illustrate how a hearing aid will perform in your patient's ear.

When the complexity of hearing instruments calls for better and more accurate probe measurements, the UNITY Probe Microphone rises to the occasion. So, when it comes to flexibility, speed and accuracy of probe microphone measurements, features such as the CONNEXX™ REM-Link and the Universal REM-Link have made UNITY virtually unmatched.

The CONNEXX REM-Link makes hearing instrument programming and probe microphone measurements one simple task. Using the CONNEXX First Fit™with the UNITY REM- Link, the Siemens hearing instrument will program itself using the client's REUR and the signal from the probe system all in real-time and as a single function. In just seconds, the result is a highly accurate fit.

The Siemens UNITY Universal REM-Link feature is a significant development in probe microphone measurements. This advancement allows you to perform your verification measures, plus modify any manufacturer's programmable hearing instrument simultaneously—in real-time, on the same screen. When the fit is completed, all measurements and hearing instrument parameters are stored in the NOAH database.

The nature of the adaptive characteristics in digital hearing instruments created a demand for a different probe measurement signal. Therefore, the UNITY system adapted nine ICRA signals, some of which are temporally modified so that digital hearing instruments will recognize the signal as real speech. ICRA signals make it possible to perform accurate, real-time probe measurements with digital hearing instruments.

The UNITY Probe Microphone system allows you to perform all traditional real-ear measurements with the ability to store up to six different curves for most tests. In addition to traditional fitting formulae, UNITY integrates complete versions of DSL I/O and NAL-NL 1.
